It’s hard to meet new people if you aren’t going to events. Because of my schedule, I don’t do a lot of live events. This year I’ve made a commitment to myself to attend at least one event each month. Three months in and I’m doing pretty well with attending events.
I believe you have to meet new people in order to build relationships.
I ask you, what are you doing to meet new people?
Ask yourself these questions:
Online
How do you network with your followers?
Do you have a follow up plan for networking with your followers?
Are you part of groups/forums?
Are you a drive by promoter?
How are you networking on the groups and forums?
Are you participating in online events?
Are you creating your own online events?
Do you share resources in the groups you belong?
Offline
Are you attending meetups?
Are you attending literary events?
Are you creating events?
Are you attending writing/business organizations meetings or events?
Do you connect with people you meet on social media offline?
If you found yourself answering no to most of these questions. You might want to rethink how you are meeting new readers.
I challenge you this month to make a goal to meet 1-5 new people each day. Ask how you can be of service to them.
