This week I need this affirmation because I’m working on completing the season of Love In Space.
Sometimes I get inside my head, and I shut down my writing muse. Here are a few things I do to start up my creating juices.
- I watch a good Kdrama. I look for a one that’s romantic to help inspire me. Most times it will give me ideas or inspire me to write.
- I talk to my writing bestie. She will help me brainstorm or give me some tips on my writing.
- I reread the episodes that I’ve posted. Last night I reread the last two episodes and it helped me to determine which path to go down with the next episodes.
- Outlining the next episodes. I’ve found with writing episodic books it helps to have an outline for the story because sometimes I will get in my head and then I’m not writing. An outline helps me stay on track. The next season I will have my forty episodes mapped out, so I won’t be driving myself crazy trying to come up with new ideas.
Finding my writing process has been hard because I was used to writing when I wanted to. Writing when I want doesn’t work for episodic books because you need content daily or weekly. I’ve been working on creating a new writing process so I can be more productive with my episodes.
These four things have helped me a lot with writing Love In Space.
If you are writing this month, find your process. Knowing your process helps you create these wonderful stories.
