My first Black historical romance was Night Song by Beverly Jenkins. I was beyond excited. As a longtime historical romance reader, discovering a book with Black characters was thrilling. I first saw an ad for it in Romantic Times, and I knew I had to have it.

I survived my first week as a published romance author on Kindle Vella. My worse fear – No one would read the book was blown out the water. Readers are reading. My goal for the week – 25 Reads/Thumbs up. Reads – 61 Thumbs Up – 41 Followers – 18 I was pleased with these numbers because as a new author, with no readership.
