Home   Love In Space   Celebrating 1,000 Reads: The Motivation I Didn’t Know I Needed

This week I reached 1000 page reads on Love In Space.

One of the things I loved about Kindle Vella was being able to see when someone read my story. You could literally watch readers move from chapter to chapter. And for some reason, that was comforting. When a reader buys your book, you don’t really know if they ever read it—unless they leave a review or reach out.

Most times, that never happens. So you sit there thinking, Okay, I sold copies… but did anyone actually read it? There’s no interaction unless the reader initiates it.

That’s why Vella meant so much to me. I could see someone reading. I could see them continuing the story. And to me, that meant they were enjoying the story.

Now that my books are on Kindle Unlimited I can also see the page reads. So reaching 1,000 page reads this month gave me a little hope in this storytelling business. As writers, we need those moments. We need that spark that tells us to keep going.

My goal was simple—get people to read the story. And now they are. Not just reading… but continuing. And now I’m dreaming about the next goal: 3,000 page reads and beyond.

I’m inspired again to continue this journey to Purpera, because I know someone out there is enjoying this world I’m creating. That kind of hope pushes me to write more. It makes me want to write more.

What does your page-reads milestone mean to you?
