Most of your promotion usually comes from your promotion goals, at least I hope you have promotion goals.

For those who don’t – Promotion Goals are things you want to do with your promotion.

For instance – One of my promotion goals is to get inside all the St. Louis Public library.

Part of my promotion strategy for this goal was to create graphics that asked my readers to request my book at their local libraries.

Part of my promotion strategy for is to create a letter writing campaign and contact the libraries myself. Hopefully it will be a join effort to get my books in the libraries.

Let’s look at your goals for this year. 

Did you meet them? 

I met most of my promotion goals, I would have liked to do more scheduling of my promotion, but I let the lazy win vs sitting down and scheduling my promotion.

I can say overall I’m very pleased with my promotion.  Two of my annual goals are to host the PPP Summit and the Book Festival.  One is completed and was a success. The last will come at the end of the year.

One of my promotion goals was to do more livestreaming and I did.  I also started creating videos for YouTube. One of my goals for next year is to grow my channel.

I didn’t meet my newsletter and blogging goals, but I did learn that you only can do so much.  I will create better goals for these areas next year.

What goals did you not make this year?

Will you be moving them over to next year, or have you decided it’s not a goal you want to continue trying to achieve.

What I have learned is you have to find what works for you. 

For instance I wanted to do a bi weekly newsletter, but I just didn’t have the time to sit down and create new content every two weeks.  The quarterly newsletter works for me.
