People will talk more about what they dislike than what they like.

I read a lot of negative reviews about the movie more than I did positive.  Instead of turning me off from seeing the movie it made me want to watch more.

Could it be that bad?

Promotion can be good or bad. It’s all about getting in front of the customer.  If it’s your target audience, they will check out your product out of curiosity because of all the promotion.

Ride the PR train

If the topic is hot right now,  get on every news outlet, blog, magazine, radio show and social media platforms.

Add to the conversation.  Showcase your product,  make your offers.  Someone needs your product.  They just need to see what it’s all about.

Word of mouth is king

Every other post in my feed was about the movie.  People who seen the movie were talking about it.  People who hadn’t seen it were talking about it.

If you can get people talking about your product that’s priceless when it comes to promotion.

Most of the promotion I saw this weekend wasn’t paid promotion.  The people who watched or didn’t watch were promoting for free.  The best promotion ever.

When it comes to promotion you can learn something from others promoting.
