Building Your Readership Newsletter – Issue 16 – Promotion Stages #5 Long-term promotion:

How do you plan on keeping your book visible?

For me long-term promotion is all about your book promotion strategy. If you have a promotion plan you are on the path to long term promotion.

Here are five strategies I suggest you include in your plan.

  1. Content Engagement Strategies:

Develop a content engagement strategy to keep the book visible across various platforms. This can include regular blog posts related to the book’s themes, guest contributions on relevant websites, engaging social media content, and participation in online communities where your readers reside. Consistency is key; schedule regular posts and interactions to maintain visibility.

  • Email Marketing Strategies:

Implement email marketing campaigns to continually remind subscribers about the book. This can involve sending out newsletters with updates, exclusive content related to the book, author interviews, or behind-the-scenes insights. By staying in touch with your readers via email, you can keep the book fresh in their minds and encourage repeat purchases or recommendations.

  • Partnerships and Collaborations Strategies:

Create strategic partnerships and collaborations with other authors, influencers, or organizations in your niche. This could involve joint promotions, co-authoring articles or books, participating in virtual events or webinars together, or cross-promoting each other’s work to reach new audiences. Leveraging the networks of others can significantly extend the book’s visibility and reach.

  • Publicity Strategies:

Keep the book in the public eye through continuous publicity efforts. This may include securing media coverage through press releases, pitching the book to relevant journalists or bloggers for reviews or features, seeking speaking engagements at conferences or events, and actively participating in podcast interviews or radio shows. By consistently generating buzz around the book, you can ensure it remains visible to potential readers.

  • Community Building and Engagement Strategies:

Focus on building and engaging with a community around the book. This could involve creating a dedicated online forum or Facebook group where readers can discuss the book, ask questions, and share their experiences. Actively participate in these communities, hosting Q&A sessions, facilitating discussions, and offering exclusive perks or incentives to members. By fostering a sense of belonging and camaraderie among readers, you can maintain long-term interest and visibility for the book.

Explore creative ways to extend the lifespan of your book and connect with new readers over time. From participating in author events to leveraging book clubs and reader communities, you’ll start building a loyal fan base and ensuring the long-term success of your book.
