Home   Building Your Readership   Three Ways Authors Can Use LinkedIn to Grow Their Readership

LinkedIn isn’t just for job seekers—it’s a goldmine for authors looking to reach readers, build authority, and connect with professionals who can support their book journey.

Here are three powerful ways you can boost your book’s visibility on LinkedIn.

Authors, want to boost your book’s visibility on LinkedIn? Here are 3 ways to make it happen:

Share Valuable, Book-Related Content

Don’t just say “buy my book.” Share excerpts, tips, or behind-the-scenes stories that connect to your book’s themes. This builds curiosity and trust.

I like to offer tips from my book or share my experiences with my book.

What can you share about your book?

Leverage LinkedIn Articles & Newsletters

Repurpose your chapters or lessons into LinkedIn Articles. Or launch a Newsletter around your genre/expertise. Always end with a call to action: “Read more in my book” or “Join my mailing list.”

I started on LinkedIn writing articles its a great way to share your experiences and the archived like a blog. I also have a newsletter that I use to share tips on building your readership.

What kind of article or newsletter can you create to introduce readers to you and your books?

Engage with Communities & Conversations

Comment on posts from readers, publishing professionals, and book clubs.

Join or create groups in your genre. Visibility grows when you join the conversation.

Your readers are on LinkedIn. The more you share, publish, and engage, the more your book gets seen.

I like jumping into comments and have conversation with other people. I’ve been invited to events and asked to speak because of the conversations I have on LinkedIn.

My best advice for engaging is to try to engage with three people each day and to share three contents of someone else. This helps with the engagement.

Which of these 3 will you try first?
