Have you ever found yourself holding back from promoting your book? Maybe you’ve experienced fear or anxiety that prevented you from taking the leap and putting yourself out there. If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone.

Recently, during a weekend of presentations, I had a realization about fear and anxiety and how they can hold us back from achieving our goals. As someone who has dealt with fear in the past, I decided to do some research on anxiety to see if it was something I was also struggling with. What I discovered is that anxiety and fear can both be major roadblocks to success, as they can prevent us from taking action and pursuing our passions.

As an author, I’ve realized that many of us deal with fear and anxiety when it comes to promoting our work. Writing can be a solitary process, and it’s easy to get stuck in our own heads and doubt ourselves. It’s important to recognize that these fears and anxieties are normal and that we’re not alone in experiencing them. However, it’s also important to learn how to overcome them.

For me, a big part of overcoming my fear was realizing that I had been avoiding offline activities because of it. I was scared to get in front of people and worried about what they might think of me. I let these fears control me for years, even after publishing my first book in 2015. But I eventually learned that I needed to let go of these fears and step out of my comfort zone in order to be successful.

If you’re struggling with fear and anxiety when it comes to promoting your work, I encourage you to focus on having fun. When you’re enjoying yourself, it’s easier to get past those anxieties and take action. Find things that make you happy when you’re promoting and use them to motivate yourself to be bolder and more confident.

Of course, getting past your fears and anxieties isn’t easy. It takes time, effort, and a willingness to step outside of your comfort zone. But it’s worth it. By learning to kick fear off the couch and take action, you’ll be able to achieve your goals and succeed in whatever you set out to do. So join me on this journey of overcoming fear and anxiety and let’s find ways to promote our work that are both effective and fun!

This month on the blog I will be sharing things I find fun for book promotion. Stop by and tell me what you are doing fun for your book promotion.
